My View on Over-Consumption
Some people are in favor of the idea of over-consumption. They point out the fact that Chinas rapid economic development has materially enriched the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and at the same time increased our demands as consumers. They also argue that the rising consumption helps drive economic growth.
However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to consume more than what their family can afford. They firmly point out that the dogged pursuit for more accounts for our debts, anxiety, waste and overload. An example can back up this arguement: The American financial crisis caused by over consumption made the people of the world worse off.
There is some truth in both arguements. But I think the disadvantages of over-consumption outweigh the advantages. In addititon to the above-mentioned negative effects, the surging consuming demand threatens to exhaust our resources and spoil our environment.
To conclude, our government is advocating ideas of conservation-minded society and sustainable development. Whether due to sense of guilt about waste, or a simple desire to save money, we need to promote sustainable consumption.

或許因?yàn)橛邢Ｍ袆?dòng)力，所以做起來(lái)某些事情也只是開(kāi)心和享受，并不覺(jué)得厭煩。

On the one hand, culture is different. Western people are open minded, strange people can make connections with each other soon and hang out for fun. While most Asian guys are shy and they won’t be active until they get familiar with each other. On the other hand, the image of Asian men is not that strong. Look at the movie and TV series, then we can barely find the yellow men as the heroes. What’s more, in the history, yellow men came to western countries to look for gold, then they work as the worker and once were driven away by the local people.

爺爺又說(shuō)：“字母要寫(xiě)得大，兩行之間要有空隙！”我疑惑地問(wèn)：“為什么？這是浪費(fèi)紙資源。”其實(shí)我是想寫(xiě)得小點(diǎn)，可以快點(diǎn)寫(xiě)完，好看電視去。誰(shuí)知，爺爺不好意思地說(shuō)：“孫女，你教我學(xué)英語(yǔ)，先從二十六個(gè)字母開(kāi)始。”我這才明白爺爺為什么要我寫(xiě)字母。于是，我非常標(biāo)準(zhǔn)地寫(xiě)完了二十六個(gè)英文字母，又快速地念了一遍。這可把爺爺急壞了，只見(jiàn)爺爺皺著眉頭說(shuō)：“櫻櫻，你慢點(diǎn)，我在做記錄。”我一聽(tīng)，奇怪地問(wèn)：“做記錄？這也要做記錄嗎？”爺爺解釋說(shuō)：“我怕記不住，在字母下面都注了漢字，比如‘大比六’就是‘Ｗ’，‘外’就是‘Ｙ’等等。所以你得說(shuō)慢點(diǎn)。”看著爺爺一副不學(xué)會(huì)不罷休的認(rèn)真模樣，我被感動(dòng)了。漸漸地，我靜下心來(lái)，開(kāi)始耐心地教爺爺學(xué)英語(yǔ)，爺爺也在認(rèn)真地給字母做漢語(yǔ)拼音。
突然，爺爺指著字母“Ｇ”問(wèn)我：“孫女，你看，這個(gè)字母該怎么注音？”我一副洋洋得意的神情說(shuō)：“呵呵，還是讓我來(lái)告訴你吧！”我看著字母“Ｇ”，心想該怎么給它做漢語(yǔ)注音呢？還真把我給難住了，沒(méi)辦法，我只好找后援——妹妹，一起來(lái)想。
妹妹摸摸腦袋，眼珠“骨碌”一轉(zhuǎn)，眉開(kāi)眼笑地說(shuō)：“‘Ｇ’不是‘急’嗎？”我嘴里默念著“Ｇ——急——”對(duì)呀，于是趕忙幫爺爺寫(xiě)了上去。爺爺見(jiàn)了，樂(lè)得嘴都合不攏了。
看著爺爺認(rèn)真的樣子，我不由得想起了一句名言：活到老，學(xué)到老。其實(shí)，大家都應(yīng)該有這種精神，因?yàn)橹R(shí)是無(wú)窮無(wú)盡的.。
