John Winston Ono Lennon was born on October 9, 1940, in Liverpool, England, during a German air raid in World War II.

約翰·溫斯頓·小野·列儂于1940年10月9日出生在英格蘭利物浦,二戰(zhàn)一場(chǎng)德國(guó)的空襲。

Lennon met Paul McCartney at a church fete on July 6, 1957. He soon invited McCartney to join the group, and the two eventually formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships in musical history.

Its lyrics encourage the listener to imagine a world at peace without the barriers of borders or the divisions of religion and nationality, and to consider the possibility that the focus of humanity should be living a life unattached to material possessions.
