Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to translate a passage from Chinese to
English. You should write your answer on Answer Sheet 2.
隨著中國經濟的蓬勃發展,學漢語的人數迅速增加,使漢語成了世界上人們最愛學的語言之一。近年來,中國大學在國際上的排名也有了明顯的提高。由于中國教育的巨大進步,中國成為最受海外學生歡迎的留學目的地之一就不足為奇了。2015年,近四十萬國際學生蜂擁來到中國學習。他們學習的科目已不再限于中國語言和文化,而包括科學與工程。在全球教育市場上,美國和英國仍占主導地位,但中國正在迅速趕上。

As China’s economy booms, there is a dramatic increase in the number of people learning Chinese, which makes it become one of the most popular languages. In recent years, international ranks of Chinese universities have apparently boosted. Owing to the progress of Chinese education, it is not odd that China has become one of the most favorite destinations for oversea students studying abroad. In 2015, around four hundred thousand international students piled into China to study. What they learn is no more limited to the subjects of Chinese and Chinese culture, they also learn science and engineering. In the global education market, America and Britain still play dominant roles, while China is catching up.
【解析】
第一句:用with或as表達伴隨,注意:with 作為介詞,后邊只能用名詞短語;as作為連詞,后邊需要引導句子,所以要有動詞;愛學的語言,可以用流行,受歡迎的popular或者喜愛的favorite來表達。另外,后半句用which引導非限定定語從句來表達,避免重復。
第二句:本句提高排名,可以說improve ranks; 或boost ranks。
第三句:“進步”這個詞可以用improvement, advancement, progress; 目的地destination; 海外學生oversea students, foreign students.
第四句:“蜂擁”, 擠pile into, 或swam;
第五句:“限于”be limited to, be confined to ,be bound to;注意“而包括”部分的翻譯,指他們會學習另外兩個學科,所以需要單獨起句。
第六句:“主導地位”dominant role, leading role都可以

要點2:迅速增加,你第一想到的詞應該是increase rapidly,其實還有一個更加傳神的翻譯:mushroom,像蘑菇一樣迅速增長。
要點3:國際排名明顯提高 International ranking has enhanced significantly。國際排名還可以說: global ranking, international position。
要點4:中國成為最受海外學生歡迎的目的地之一:China has become one of the most popular destination with overseas student。此處再次考查“最受歡迎之一”most popular with。
要點5:四十萬怎么表達?聰明的人會選擇寫數字的,你懂得。英語表達是: four hundred thousand,或者用million這個單位,就是0.4million。
要點6:美國和英國仍占主導地位the United States and Britain are still the dominant market,dominant一直是六級的核心詞匯哦。
