第一個游戲是老師教我們的：爸爸、媽媽和我三個人，十二張英語卡片正好每人拿四張。一次要拿出來一張卡片，不能讓別人看到，然后我們三個一起出牌，我大聲地說：“開！”我們一起打開，看看誰的數字最大，而且要用英語說出來，誰就贏了，可以把三張卡片都拿走。
第二個游戲是我們三個一起想出來的，名字叫“排火車”。把卡片當成撲克牌，洗好牌以后，按順序摸牌，還是每個人四張牌。我們要把這些卡片按照從one到twelve的順序排成一列小火車，放卡片的時候不能太慢，還要用英語說出來。玩了一會兒，爸爸說：“這樣是不是太簡單了，咱們玩個難一點兒的吧！”我們又倒著排火車，從twelve到one，可是，這也難不倒我，因為我已經把這些單詞都記得很熟了。

我做完作業，要聽錄音了，我走過去對奶奶說：“奶奶，我要聽錄音了！”奶奶也許聽得太認真了，并沒有察覺我在她身邊。我大聲喊：“奶奶”。這才回過頭來，說：“這玩意挺好玩的，你給我買一個吧。”我聽了，差點暈過去。奶奶又發話了：“孫女，banana是香蕉的英文，是嗎？再借我聽聽唄。”我唉聲嘆氣，真是啞巴吃黃蓮——有苦說不出，只好耐心等待。
吃晚飯了，奶奶還在聽錄音，聽出味道來了，“孫女，蘋果是‘啊砰！A，P，P，啊哦，E，啊砰’！”我聽了，立刻捧著肚子大笑起來，可奶奶完全不知道是怎么一回事，以為自己讀得不錯，還高興地笑哩！
晚飯過后，奶奶以火箭般地速度沖向錄音機旁，嘴里冒著一長串的“泡泡。”我尷尬死了，錄音機被霸占了。現在又不能聽了，只好等到奶奶走了后再聽。
我等啊等，奶奶走的'時刻終于等到了，“臨走”前還對我說：“哎，人老了學什么都難。你可得好好抓緊時間，多學些知識和本領，不要像我這樣，等頭發白了才后悔莫及！”
